Greg Foley

Greg Foley is a Grammy-nominated album cover designer, the author-illustrator of the children’s series Thank You Bear (Viking), and a contributing cover artist for The New Yorker. His new book COOL: Style, Sound, and Subversion (Rizzoli) is the first illustrated history covering 100 years of subculture, style and music. As a founding member of Visionaire, V Magazine, VMAN, and VFiles, Foley has teamed up with such talents as David Bowie, Karl Lagerfeld, Tom Ford, Mario Testino, Peter Saville, Jenny Holzer, Yoko Ono, and has created limited editions that have revolutionized the format of a publication. Foley has taught at Parsons School of Design for over fifteen years and is a visiting critic at Rhode Island School of Design, NYU, Columbia University, and Yale. He is a graduate of RISD, and has worked with diverse brands including Louis Vuitton, Dior, Warner Bros. Records, Adidas, Sony Playstation, Gap, Levi’s, Gucci and Tiffany & Co. His work has been exhibited at The Museum of Modern Art, and the Centre Pompidou, among other galleries and institutions around the world.
